Standard size photographic and fine art prints
$4.00 – $358.00
The standard sizes below are easy to order for off-the-shelf frames from stores such as Ikea, K-Mart or Spotlight, or from online homewares retailers. As standard sizes can be either in the metric or imperial system (mm or inches), this list contains both, as well as ISO sizes. Please make sure you select the correct size.
In addition to the standard sizes shown here, we also print custom sizes on all our fine art papers and on our fine art canvas.
UPLOADING IMAGES: The upload field below only takes one image at a time. Please make your paper/size selection, upload your image, select the quantity and click ‘Add to cart’, then repeat for additional images. A small thumbnail of your image will appear in the upload box when done.
If you have problems uploading or a large number of images, add your selections to the cart without using the upload field, then use the WeTransfer button below and note size, paper type and quantity for each image in the message section.
We print your photographs or digitised artwork on a Canon PRO-4000 wide format giclee printer, using archival pigment inks designed for fine art printing. We have a wide range of gallery-quality, archival papers and canvas so that you can choose the paper that will suit and enhance your work. Our papers are from trusted European manufacturers of specialist art and photographic paper, such as Hahnemühle and Ilford.
We have a fully colour managed process from start to finish, and carefully check the colours of your digital file from our calibrated monitors to the final print on the specific paper you choose, so that your final print is as accurate as possible.
If you would like to do you own on-screen proof before sending your file, we can send you the ICC profile for your chosen paper (and we also offer a screen calibration service). If you want to know more about how different papers affect printed colour, take a look at our article on colour management.
About borders
For custom and standard size prints we offer three border options:
Standard: we add a handling border of 2-4mm on each side of your print as standard. This enables the print to be picked up without leaving marks on the image. It will also sit underneath the mat or edge of the frame when you frame it.
Borderless: we can provide your print without any border, at the size you request. This option can be useful if you plan to sandwich the print in a Perspex block frame, or if you want to mount the print in a floating frame (we would recommend smaller prints on heavyweight paper for this).
Custom border: we can print a wider border to your specifications. For this option you must include the border in your image file, and we will print it to the size you have ordered inclusive of the border. Make sure that if you choose this option, you order the print size that will fit the image plus its border.
Please take time to make sure your files are print-ready and correctly sized to avoid delay with your order. We will not crop or distort the image without checking with you first. We check your files before printing to identify possible issues and we'll let you know if we think something isn't quite right.
We offer free consultation and review of submitted files, colour correction, and advice and recommendations on paper choice, print handling, framing and presentation -- get in touch and we'll be happy to help!
To ensure the best possible prints from your digital files, please upload files with the following specifications.
Formats
We accept Photoshop (PSD), JPEG and TIFF files for printing.
Colour Space
All files must be RGB (not CMYK) and we recommend using either Adobe RGB (1998) or ProPhoto RGB colour profiles.
Resolution
Your files should be at least 300dpi (ideally 600dpi) and correctly sized for the size of print that you order. Files at incorrect dimensions or aspect ratio may be cropped or distorted, so if we see that your file doesn’t match the size you ordered we will contact you to discuss your options.
Borders
We add an approximately 4mm handling border to all standard and custom size prints unless otherwise specified. This allows for safe handling and easy framing of your prints. If you require a larger border, this must be included in your file, and the print size you order should accommodates the border.
Fine Art cards have a 5-7mm border as standard, but can be printed borderless if specified.
Sending your files
You can upload your files from the order page. If you have a number of files to send us, or your files are particularly large .tiff files, it may be quicker to send them via our WeTransfer service (chromocatpress.wetransfer.com) or email them to us at stephen@chromocatpress.com
