Standard size photographic and fine art prints

Price range: $4.00 through $358.00

If you’re looking for economical framing for your giclee prints, the standard sizes below are easy to order for off-the-shelf frames from stores such as Ikea, K-Mart or BigW (and many others!)

As off-the-shelf frames are sold in both metric and imperial measurements (mm or inches), this list contains both, as well as ISO (‘A’) sizes. Please make sure you select the correct size.

In addition to the standard sizes shown here, we also print custom sizes on all our fine art papers and on canvas.

UPLOADING IMAGES:

Upload your artwork in JPEG, PSD or TIFF format. Your artwork should be sized to match the ordered print size.

If you have problems uploading or a large number of images, add your selections to the cart without using the upload field, then use the WeTransfer button below and note size, paper type and quantity for each image in the message section.

Border

We add a small 'handling border' of 2-4mm outside the finished print size, unless you select 'Borderless' below. If you require a border larger than 2-4mm, please include it in the uploaded image.

If you're selling giclee prints commercially, it can be a good idea to stock sizes that fit off-the-shelf frames. While custom prints can be professionally framed or matted to accommodate their specific dimensions, many every day art-lovers will appreciate the option to buy a high quality reproduction that can be framed quickly and inexpensively.

Choosing your border

We have three border options:

Standard: we add a handling border of 2-4mm on each side of your print as standard. This enables the print to be picked up without leaving marks on the image. It will also sit underneath the mat or edge of the frame when you frame it.

Borderless: we can provide your print without any border, at the size you request. This option can be useful if you plan to sandwich the print in a Perspex block frame, or if you want to mount the print in a floating frame (we would recommend smaller prints on heavyweight paper for this).

Custom border: we can print a wider border to your specifications. For this option you must include the border in your image file, and we will print it to the size you have ordered inclusive of the border. Make sure that if you choose this option, you order the print size that will fit the image plus its border.

Please take time to make sure your files are print-ready and correctly sized to avoid delay with your order. We will not crop or distort the image without checking with you first. We check your files before printing to identify possible issues and we'll let you know if we think something isn't quite right. Check the 'File specifications' tab for more information.

We offer free consultation and review of submitted files, colour correction, and advice and recommendations on paper choice, print handling, framing and presentation -- get in touch and we'll be happy to help!

To ensure the best possible prints from your digital files, please upload files with the following specifications.

Formats

We accept Photoshop (PSD), JPEG and TIFF files for printing. TIFF is our preferred format, especially if you want large-format prints.

Colour Space

All files must be RGB (not CMYK) and we recommend using either Adobe RGB (1998) or ProPhoto RGB colour profiles.

Resolution and dimension

Your files should be at least 300dpi (ideally 600dpi) resolution – the larger you want to print, the higher the resolution needs to be. High resolution files will be larger in size (kb, mb, gb).

The digital image should also be the right dimensions for the size of print that you order. Files at incorrect dimensions or aspect ratio may be cropped or distorted, so if we see that your file doesn’t match the size you ordered we will contact you to discuss your options.

Check out this useful aspect ratio calculator, which will help you work in the right resolution and dimensions.

This YouTube video from Photo Book Guru is also a fantastic guide to resolution and all the factors that can affect the final quality of your image.

Borders

We add an approximately 4mm handling border to all standard and custom size prints unless you tell us otherwise. This allows for safe handling and easy framing of your prints. Let us know if you would like it printed borderless.

If you require a larger border, you must include it in your image file, and the print size you order should include the border.

Fine art greeting cards have a 5-7mm border as standard, but can be printed borderless if you prefer.

Canvas borders allow for stretching on a frame. As the borders are visible on the sides of the final framed canvas, you can choose how this will look when you order your canvas print.

You can upload your files from the order page. If you have a large number of files to send us, or your files are particularly large .tiff files, it may be quicker to send them via our WeTransfer service (chromocatpress.wetransfer.com) or email them to us at stephen@chromocatpress.com
